HTC Rezound Price in India/USA | Review and Specifications

HTC Rezound is another high-end handset launched by the Taiwanese firm alongside the two super cool Motorola Droid RAZR and the Galaxy Nexus. It can be considered as the least hyped of the trio but it certainly is worth a mention. The phone is loaded with features and is an ideal device for your multimedia needs. Does this phone has what it takes to stand against the Giants such as the Droid RAZR and the Nexus or its just another out-of-the-mill handset from HTC, let's see in the review.

Talking about the body first, the phone has certainly got a noticeable size with a footprint of 129 x 65.5 mm. Also, its quite thick at 13.7 mm. In comparison to the Droid RAZR which is just 7.1 mm thick, it is pretty thick and bulky. It has been provided with a great design and in spite of its large size, fits nicely and comfortably in the hand. Rezound weighs around 170 grams which is quite heavy when compared to some of its rivals, for example, the RAZR weighs just 124 grams.

The main highlight of the phone is the 720pHD screen which is clear and sharp like anything. The 1280*720 resolution packed in the 4.3 inch S-LCD screen leads to an insanely high pixel density of 342 ppi which is even more than the Nexus leading to a brilliant display. There are no issues regarding pixelation or jagged text and the multimedia experience is mind-blowing. The colors are clear and sharp, although, when compared to the SAMSUNG's Super AMOLED screen, the 720pHD screen feels wanting. The Super AMOLED screen used in the Galaxy S2 proves better than the S-LCD screen used in the Rezound with better viewing angles and color depth.

The phone runs on a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The dualcore chip along with the 1 GB RAM provides enough power to the Rezound to run smoothly without any lags or crashes. Although, while browsing, there are a few lags here and there but that's not something to brag about. It offers pinch-to-zoom as well as a built-in accelerometer, light sensor, and proximity sensor. The LCD display does wash out slightly under the bright sunlight. The phone has been provided with 16 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB through microSD card.

Moving on to the camera, the Rezound houses an 8 MP back camera supported with some decent features such as touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection, instant capture and many more. The camera is capable of shooting HD videos up to 1080p at 30fps, although, when the recording is done at 720p, the frame rate increases drastically to about 60 fps. The images are quite good and the colors are rich and deep.

Rezound is running Android v2.3.5(Gingerbread) although it is upgradeable to the latest Android version, the ICS. Rezound is running HTC's own Sense 3.5 UI. It includes a new lock screen that provides immediate access to four of your favorite apps--simply slide the appropriate shortcut over the metal ring and it will launch immediately. Other improvements include a three-dimensional home screen carousel, refined widgets, and the ability to add and remove home screen panels. You can have up to seven home screens.

One of the main features of the Rezound is the Audio of the phone. The phone has been provided with beats Audio headphones and special software that helps boost sound significantly. The headphones, which by the way cost around $100, come with the phone and are of the same red color as the Rezound. Sound quality actually increases dramatically with deepened bass and louder volume. The main problem associated with the beats Audio app is that it can only be accessed through the music app which can be a bit annoying.

Overall, this phone is not just another phone from HTC. They have really put hard work into this phone. The Rezound is capable of competing against the big boys like the RAZR or the Nexus. The main highlight of the Rezound is its screen. The S-LCD screen makes it even better than the Nexus in terms of pixel density. Rezound is a great handset with a truckload of features. The spotlight feature is obviously the Beats Audio, but if you are willig to spend around $250 just for the Audio, well you might have to think again. The Rezound is certainly a decent phone and definitely worth its price.
