HTC One X, the Quad-core beast unveiled, PRICE AND SPECIFICATIONS

HTC have finally introduced their new series of handsets in MWC 2012. The main highlight in this series is the new HTC One X. Other smartphones in this series are the One S and One V. The phone has been provided with quad-core power.
The phone has 1.5 GHz quad-core chip installed. HTC have decided to focus on quality than quantity this year which is evident from the One series. The phones are power packed with high-end features.

Let's limit our discussion to the One X for the moment and talk about the other phones later. The phone is a technology masterpiece. Everything this possesses is simply high class. From processor to camera to software, everything is simply the best. Firstly, let's start with the body of the phone. It is made up of a single piece of polycarbonate rather than metal leading to a  reduction in weight. The phone weighs just 4.58 ounces and is just 9.3 mm thick. It is available in two colors, Black and White.

Taking a look at the processor of the phone, the phone runs on Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. It is the world's only 4-PLUS-1 processor. The phone gives brilliant performance and lasting battery life. The four cores are used to perform the more demanding tasks of the smartphone whereas the fifth core is the standby core where the less demanding tasks can be carried out. Tegra 3's 12-core GPU enables consumers to enjoy console-quality gaming.

Coming to software from the hardware, the phone is running the latest version of Android, the Ice Cream Sandwich. The ICS has been modified the HTC way by HTC Sense UI v4.0. Latest version of Sense has been installed and the Interface of the phone looks really good. HTC Sense 4 is much more minimalistic with less text and has much fewer icons. The combination of ICS and HTC Sense 4 along with a quad-core chip is a mouth-watering prospect.

Talking about the camera, it really takes this already a superb phone to a whole new level. The camera is the main highlight of the phone. The phone has been provided with an 8 MP camera. HTC had been using only 5 MP camera's till now. The camera makes use of the dual shutter technology which means you would be able to take pictures while shooting a video. The f/2.0 lens aperture is unparalleled and proves a real handful in low light situations. Companies have been struggling to keep up with even the f/2.4 aperture technology of HTC, now they have gone one stride more ahead. The phone is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos up to 30 fps.

The shutter speed of the phone is also worth noticing. It has a shutter speed of about .7 seconds which makes it better than any other camera smartphone in the market. There is an entirely separate core for the camera resulting in seriously high speeds of the camera and the lag is next to nothing. There is also a 1.3 MP front camera for video calling. It is also capable of recording up to 720p.

Overall, HTC One X is easily one of the best smartphones with its quad-core chip, Android v4.0, 8 MP camera and many other high-end features. The phone is yet to be available in the markets and is expected to be available by Q2, 2012 but it certainly has caught eyes and will be eagerly waited by many.
