The body of the phone is average with the use of plastic and the bulge at the top which hinders in the grip of the phone. The screen is pretty good with Super AMOLED display having a resolution of 480*800 pixels. Colors are bright and there are no problems of pixelation in the handset.
The phone is running Android Gingerbread with Samsung's very own Touchwiz UI. The phone looks bulky with minimum thickness of 12.5 mm, also there is bulge upfront for the projector. But for a projector phone, it is quite slim. In fact, Samsung claim it to be the thinnest projector smartphone.
Beam is powered with a Dual Core 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor. RAM is also pretty decent at 768 MB. It has 8 GB of Internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. It features a 5 MP camera at the back and a 1.3 MP front camera in case of video calling.
Now coming to the projector, it is actually pretty decent. The image quality is quite good up to 2 meters. The mode of the projector changes automatically. It appears to deliver its best in a dark room. You cannot expect a high-end projector in a mobile phone but at this cost, its not that bad.It houses a 2000mAh battery although in projector mode, the battery backup is around 3 hours.
The phone is a unique one and it would be interesting to see whether it is able to make in rhodes in the market or will it just pass away like the earlier projector phone attempt by Samsung. The phone is set to release in a month or two and the price is not yet specified but looking at its features, its a mid-range phone and should price around $300-$400.
