Although the camera is 41 MP, but an image greater than 38 MP cannot be captured due to the ratio restrictions of the image. In landscape mode, it captures 34 MP image while in portrait mode it is capable of up to 38 MP. The images are of supreme quality(obviously) and it is also capable of shooting HD videos up to 1080p.
NOKIA 808 Pureview is a gem for camera enthusiasts with its 41 MP camera equipped with xenon flash, touch focus and many other features. NOKIA focused so heavily on camera that they kept the rest of the phone on a believable level. 808 is running Symbian Belle, the upgraded version of the Symbian as we saw in NOKIA 700 and 701. The interface is not that bad and in spite of being a Symbian device, it feels rather Androidish.
Strictly speaking, we didn't find the body of the 808 that much appealing. The back of the phone is made up of plastic and feels rather uncomfortable in the hands and also gives a cheap look to the phone. The camera bulge at the back of the phone is quite annoying and hinders with the grip of the phone.
Coming to the hardware, the phone is powered with a 1.4 GHz ARM 11 chip along with a RAM of 512 MB. So, no issues with speed. 808 has all the smartphone features such as micro USB slot, micro HDMI slot, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth .3.0 and many more. The display of the phone is quite good with its 4 inch nHD AMOLED clear black touch display. Although the resolution is on the lower side at 360*640, it doesn't look all that bad.
The phone is due to be released in May and it surely will be eagerly awaited by many mobile phone as well as camera freaks. Let's see whether this camera monster will be able to re-establish NOKIA as the leading mobile brand in the market....
