Talking about the screen of the Ace. It is nothing much to talk about. The phone has a 3.5" capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 320*480 pixels. The pixel density is not that great and it shows in the image quality of the phone. The screen is quite glossy and prone to fingerprints and smudges which is quite annoying. The touch of the screen is quite responsive and there is no significant lag in the phone.
The phone is running Android v2.2(Froyo) which is upgradeable to v2.3(Gingerbread). The Samsung customized Android provides a pretty good interface to the phone. The phone comes pre-installed with Swype keyboard which is a real convenience while typing. Android market provides tonnes of apps as always in the phone.
The phone is powered with a 800 MHz chip along with 278 MB RAM which, we consider, is a bit slow by Samsung's standards. The phone sometimes hangs while running heavy and bulky apps. But the overall experience is quite good and smooth.
Coming to the camera, it is somewhat a drawback of the phone. Image quality of the phone is quite good but video recording is a matter of concern. It can record only up to 15 fps of QVGA quality videos. It has an LED flash and auto-focus feature which prove quite useful taking close-ups and low lit shots.
Overall, the phone is not the best one in its league but is not that bad either if you ignore some of its disadvantages regarding video recording and the low resolution screen. The phone also seems to be a bit overpriced considering its features and specifications.
