Ever since it’s release under the Nokia’s Cseries branding, the Nokia C6 was bound to attract some attention. And for a good reason. The budget price range is quite unusual for what it offers in return: attractive design, a touchscreen enforced with a slide-out qwerty keyboard and all the connectivity you can eat, including voice guided GPS navigation. With a few caveats, it’s not difficult to spot the simple yet beautiful concept behind the Nokia C6 – you get what you see, without going into overdrive with expenses.
The 3.2” TFT screen that is present on the Nokia C6 has resistive technology, 16 Million colors, and the 360x640 pixels nHD resolution. The screen is fairly responsive for a resistive display, but it can in no way be compared to any capacitive offering. It does what it can for the technology used when in direct sunlight, which is not much, unless you set it on full brightness. The device is very easy to operate with one hand, since it is pretty narrow, due to the 16:9 aspect ratio of the screen. The only thing that bothers us about the display is its resistive nature.
It is equipped with an external qwerty keypad which is one of its premium features. Typing is very easy and comfortable due to its sliding qwerty keypad. The keys are not packed together which allows to unleash your typing potential.
The user Interface of NOKIA C6 is as always a bit of a nuisance. It can get confusing sometimes. It also seems a bit outdated as it closely resembles to that of NOKIA N97. It is one of the black spots on this phone like in all NOKIA phones.
The innards are also not that flash either. It is powered by a 434MHz chip and 128 MB RAM. So, browsing and other multimedia applications are a bit jarry and time-consuming. This mobile phone struggles to open images and play videos and is not an appropriate option if you require smooth and easy browsing.
Overall, this mobile is not a good choice if you want a smooth and easily accessible phone. It is provided with an sturdy design and an impressive keypad which are some of its positives. But, it struggles with its interface which makes this phone not a profitable purchase.
