NOKIA c7 is the next in the series of the C-series of NOKIA and successor of the magnificent N8. NOKIA have tried to make it a lot like N8 and reducing its price at the same time as N8 is quite heavy on the pocket. They have reduced its price but have compromised on its features and design.
It does not have the same spark as the N8. Without the Nokia N8's anodized alluminium chassis, it hasn't quite got that same expensive air about it, but nevertheless, feels durable and a whole lot more practical. This reiterates our earlier point - the Nokia C7 feels like a phone, an attractive, slim phone. Without any protrusions, it fits very nicely in the pocket, and is comfortable to hold to the ear when making calls on it.
The screen of the set is also quite impressive. It is provided with a 3.5" AMOLED touch screen with 360*640 pixel resolution. The images are quite sharp and detailed.Although, it feels a little slow and the lag is quite visible.
Coming to the Interface, NOKIA are still sticking to Symbian OS which is actually leading to their downfall especially with a couple of worthy rivals like iOS and Android. Its the same case with C7 as well. The Interface becomes clunky and confusing sometimes. There is not a lot of innovation put into it and it is very similar to its previous versions.
It is provided with a 8 MP camera and a front camera for video calling. It is a bit of a downfall compared to the N8's 12 MP eye. But its not the cause of worry. The real problem is the lack of auto-focus. This downgrades the phone to a large extent. This make the phone more than suitable for landscapes and portraits(due to its 8 MP camera) but not so good for close-ups. The playback of the phone is also pretty good. It can play videos up to 720p without any real issues due to its 680 MHz chip.
Overall, it is a pretty decent handset and worth the buy if you are looking for a substitute for N8 although it has its own limitations but still a pretty good set.
