SAMSUNG WAVE 3 is the next in line handset of the wave series of SAMSUNG. In the era of Android and iOS, SAMSUNG have shown the courage to come up with a Bada based mobile phone. Let's see whether this phone really has what it takes to remian in the market against the Android and iOS rivals.
Firstly, lets talk about the body of the device. Frankly, when I firstly looked at it, I was amazed at the sheer excellence of the design and build quality of this phone. Its stylish metallic body and glossy brushed texture looks fantastic. The screen of the phone is also of premium quality. The 4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480*800 is rich in colors and looks beautiful.
Coming to the hardware, the phone is packed with a 1.4 GHz processor which grants it amazingly quick speeds. There are no visible lags in the phone and the touch functions quite smoothly as well.
It has been provided with a 5 MP back camera and a VGA front camera. The camera is decent and is equipped with features such as auto-focus, geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization and also has an LED flash light for low lit conditions. The image quality is quite good and the camera is also capable of shooting videos up to 720p.
Talking about the software, it is running on Bada 2.0(modified version of the Bada). The OS looks quite good and SAMSUNG have clearly been inspired by Android looking at the modifications in the OS. The modified version resembles the Android quite a lot which we have to say, is not a bad thing at all. The only thing we found the OS lagging in was the Apps. Comparing with the Android market or the Apple store, the number of apps in the Bada is quite less.
Overall looking at the Wave 3, the phone is quite good and can be called as a genuine smartphone. But if you are switching from an Android device, you might feel nostalgic as the modified Bada has a lot of Android. Wave 3, with its brilliant design and build quality, is one of the best smartphones available in the market presently.
