REVIEW-

Firstly, let's talk of the body and design. Like all HTC devices, FLYER has a very good and attractive design. The sleek design along with metallic body are enough to give it a luxurious outlook. Like the I-pad 2, FLYER has an Aluminium border which gives it an I-Padish look. The 7 inch screen of the FLYER is decent enough with a resolution of 600*1024. The capacitive touch of the device is also quited responsive and quick.

The hardware of the device is also quite good with a 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM but in its competition with the dual core monsters, it feels a little wanting. The main attraction of the device is the Scribe technology. It has a utility of a digital pen which can be used instead of the fingertips. But there's a problem using the pen, the Interface is not designed to be operated with a digital pen, so you may have to switch between fingers and the pen time and again.

Coming to the Software, it really is disappointing to say that it has been provided with Gingerbread while all other tabs in the market are running Honeycomb and even the ICS update is not far. An ICS update of the tablet is possible in the future.

It has been provided with a 1.3 MP front camera and a 5 MP camera which is an advantage over the Galaxy Tab which had only 3 MP back camera. I personally feel that providing a camera in the tablet is a complete waste of resources and is useless. If a person spends such hefty amounts purchasing a tablet, he surely must have a mobile phone with a camera. It also doesn't have a flash which makes the things worse. The image and video quality is also only average and nothing exceptional.

Overall, FLYER is a pretty decent device with its share of pros and cons. The main attraction of the device, the digital pen also has its limitations and above all, it must be purchased separately from the tab and that too at a cost of $40 which I feel is a bit too much. The Galaxy Tab can be ranked better than the FLYER and is cheap as well. So, if you are a hardcore HTC fan, you can go and purchase the FLYER but as a consumer, it has better alternatives those too at cheaper rates.
