NOKIA E7 is next in the series of business oriented smartphones of NOKIA. NOKIA have done a lot of hardwork on this set which is quite visible in its design and build quality. Thsi phone is one of the most elegant phones in the market in comparision to its competition. Its metallic design gives it a very nice look and puts it up along with N8 and i-phone 4.
This handset has a 4' AMOLED touch screen with 360*640 pixels display which make it a great multimedia asset. This phone is excellent in terms of picture quality and other multimedia apps, but suffers while doing any typing related work as the 360*640 resolution on a massive 4' screen can lead to decrease in the quality of the text.Talking about typing, this phone can be considered one of the best suited for this job. It is equipped with a very impressive qwerty keypad which is enabled by the sliding action of the screen. The keys are not clustered together so typing can be a pretty nice experience with this phone. Although, the slider action is a bit unusual as the screen opens up at an angle, so it may take some time to get accustomed to it.
Talking about the OS, it is one of the negative features of this phone.NOKIA have powered it with symbian^3. The interface is quite poor and you may want to smack this phone to the wall while using it. It becomes really confusing at times. It also does not carry the variety of apps as compared to its competitors, Android and i0S. Symbian tries to catch up to its rivals via this phone but it still has a long way to go.
It is running on a 680MHz chip, so it may be on the slow side as its competitors are running on 1GHz chips. Heavy applications may take some time to load due to its slow clock speed.
It is provided with an 8 MP camera powered with dual LED flash. Comparing to NOKIA N8, it is a step in the wrong direction which had a 12 MP camera. The camera is good for external use (landscapes and snapshots) but struggles to produce quality images during close-up shots due to absence of auto-focus feature in it.
Overall, NOKIA have produced a stylish design and hardware in this set. It is one of the most classy looking sets of NOKIA. In terms of looks, this phone is really worth the buy. But it really lags in terms of software and interface which makes one wonder if he/she has done the right thing by spending such a hefty amount on this set.
