The body, as already stated is not much fiddled with and is almost the same as its predecessors. Although, its textured back is one of its prime virtues and it fits the phone comfortably in the hand without much slipping. It has a 3" TFT Capacitive touch screen with resolution of 240*320 pixels which is a little low as far as SAMSUNG are concerned. Display may not be that much clear as other Android phones fom SAMSUNG.
GALAXY Y is running on a 832 MHz processor which again is a bit low from the standards of SAMSUNG. The phone runs decently enough for most of the time but hangs a bit when a number of apps are running simultaneously. Maybe its the consequence of the low price tag attached to this phone.
The phone runs on Android v.2.3.5(Gingerbread) which is the latest edition of Android. So, there are no headaches regarding updates in this set. The OS works nicely on GALAXY Y and provides a pretty decent user interface. Although, a faster processor may have worked wonders for the Android, but you have to compromise for a small price tag.
The camera of this phone is probably the biggest drawback of this phone. It is provided with a meagre 2 MP camera which is very low from today's standards. The screen also being not that flash, this phone is not a very good multimedia solution.
Overall, its a nice phone if you want your first touch screen phone as this is not more than a beginner level device. In the same price tag, we found this phone to perform the best. It might not satisfy your multimedia needs due to its poor camera and low quality screen but the Android store tries to make up for it with its huge amount of apps.
