MOTOROLA DROID RAZR MAXX Review, Price and Specifications

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is the  successor to the Droid razr. The design of the phone is almost the same except a few tweaks. Razr Maxx has the same solid build and excellent looks as the Droid Razr. The phone has got its name from its battery, which is a mammoth 3300 mAh one as compared to Droid Razr's 1780 mAh battery.

The design of the phone is pretty much the same as the Droid Razr with few improvements. It does not have the same bump at its top in the camera area like the Droid Razr. Its also a bit thicker than the Droid Razr but its not something that should concern you much. The phone has a 4.3" super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540*960 pixels which is the same s the Droid Razr. The screen is pretty clear and colors are quite sharp.

Razr Maxx runs on the same dual core 1.2 GHz chip as the Droid Razr. The RAM is also unchanged from the Droid Razr. So, there are no issues regarding the speeds of the phone. The phone runs smoothly and there are no lags whatsoever in the phone. The phone contains 5 different home screens to choose from.

OS of the phone is also the same as the Droid Razr. It runs Android v2.3.5(Gingerbread). That's quite a shock as Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) was expected in this set. It contains all the feature of Android and Google. Verizon have installed a few apps of their own in the Razr Maxx. Features such as the Motocast and Webtop make its a true smartphone. It also contains other smart actions like the ringer automatically silence itself in the office or launch the music player when you plug in your headphones.

The camera of the phone is a bit of a concern. The 8 MP camera is capable of recording up to 1080p videos. The videos are excellent but the still shots are not up to the mark. The pics looked washed out and muffed. In low light shots, the shots contained noise and the LED flash also didn't help much.

In the end, looking at all its pros and cons, we found this phone quite appealing. The phone is rich with features and its 3300mAh marathon battery is the main selling point of this phone. If you are able to loosen your pockets a bit and ignore its large size, this phone proves to be rather brilliant.
