It has a 4" super AMOLED touch screen with 480*800 pixel display. The touch is also quite good and is very responsive. There is no significant lag in the touch screen. The brightness quotient of the screen is also pretty high and performs really well even in bright sunlight.
It is powered with a 1 GHz chip which is responsible for its fast and zippy speed along with its 512 MB RAM. There are no problems whatsoever regarding the speed. This mobile performs really well even while running heavy and bulky apps. It comes with in-built 16 GB memory for file storage and can be expanded up to 32 GB in case it is not sufficient.
The camera of the phone is quite decent. It has a 5 MP camera epuipped with auto-focus feature which is quite handy for close-up shots. There is no flash so low light pics can be a problem sometimes. The pics taken by the Galaxy look quite brilliant on the super AMOLED screen but it just does not feel the same when viewed on a regular monitor. There is also a secondary camera for video calling.
The I9000 is equipped with Android 2.1 (Eclair). With the Galaxy S, you get all the standard Android features including tight integration with Google services such as Gmail, native Microsoft Exchange support and a Webkit-based browser that supports multitouch gestures but not the Adobe Flash plug-in.
Overall, it is a pretty decent set with many features making it a high-end Android Smartphone. The price is a bit on the higher side but its quite an impressive phone and worth paying for. Barring its few cons regarding flash and adobe flash plug-in, the GALAXY S is perfectly worth its price.
