DELL XCD35 is another of the Andoid running sets. It looks quite decent, not in the same category as other high-end Android phones but its not that bad either. The phone feels quite comfortable in hand and looks quite good even with its plastic body. Dell have equipped it with Android but have not been able to rise up to the specifications of Android in terms of hardware.
It is powered with a 600 MHz processor which looks quite sluggish running the Android. As Android is itself quite heavy, anything below 800 MHz is going to struggle to keep up with Android. The phone lags sometimes in response to touch and also hangs while running heavy apps.
Coming to the OS, it is running on Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) , the same OS plat form is used by Dell XCD28 . It is a 3G supported phone having the wonderful features and functions. But its charm gets blurred when accompanied with a slow processor.
In the camera department, XCD35 performs quite well.It is fitted with a 3.15 MP auto-focus camera, but no flash. The interface is quite good with a multitude of options and features. Outdoor pics look quite good and auto-focus helps in enhancing the details of the shots. It does not possess a secondary camera, which is a drawback considering it supports 3G.
Overall, this phone has its pros and cons and feels quite good at its first look but its slow processor spoils the show for this phone. This phone is not recommended to anyone who desires smooth and nippy experience with an Android.
