Most of the features are same as the GALAXY S-II. Except for the size and screen resolution, it is almost the identical twin of S-II. It enjoys a SUPER AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 800*1280 pixels whereas S-II has 480*800 pixel display. The higher resolution makes this phone score an edge over the S-II. The screen is insanely clear and the detail level is very high due to its high resolution.
The processor is the same as S-II. It is also powered with the same dual core 1.4 GHz chip as the S-II. There are no problems in the speed department and the phone functions very smoothly. The apps run smoothly without any crashes or lags.
The OS is also the same as the S-II. Gingerbread functions wonderfully on the NOTE providing a nice interface along with a huge Android Store. In recent future, it is expected to be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich which would make it completely overtake the S-II.
The camera is also the same as S-II. The 8 MP back camera is quite capable with auto-focus and an LED flash. The photos are clear and look even clearer on its monster 5.3" screen. It is also capable of shooting videos up to 1080p. The 2 MP front shutter is quite handy for video calling.
It has been provided with a stylus considering its gigantic screen. There is an in-built stylus holder in the phone. The phone comes with an app called S Memo that can store handwritten notes and drawings. It also accommodates pictures, voice recordings, and typed text.
Overall, this is a very good handset. The only con we found in this set was its loud speakers at the back. They don't have much sound according to the size of the device. Otherwise, this phone just surpasses the S-II due to its super clear screen.
